Who this is built for.

WSQ training is for working adults who want formal recognition alongside practical skills. Here is the honest fit guide.

This is for you if

You are a working adult in Singapore. This course is designed for professionals who use AI at work or want to start.
Your company is sending you for structured AI training. Corporate teams can tap SME grants and Absentee Payroll to offset the cost significantly.
You want formal recognition, not just a workshop certificate. The WSQ Statement of Attainment is nationally recognised and goes on your SkillsConnect transcript.
You are new to generative AI. No prior experience required. We start from foundations on Day 1.
You want to use AI for real content tasks. Image creation, prompting, retouching, ethical use — practical from the first session.

This may not be the right fit if

You are already an advanced AI practitioner. This course is structured for beginners to intermediate learners. For expert-level work, see our Advanced AI Prompting course.
You want deep technical or machine learning training. This is a practical content and application course, not a coding or data science programme.
You are outside Singapore or not eligible for SSG funding. The WSQ framework is Singapore-specific. Non-funded enrolment may be available — enquire directly.
How it runs

Two days. Four half-day sessions.

Structured for working adults — mornings only, so you keep your afternoons free. Day 1 is theory and foundations. Day 2 is practical application on real platforms.

What participants will be able to do

Four learning outcomes. Zero fluff.

These are the exact outcomes from the WSQ module specification. Not marketing language — competency language.

01

Know the core concepts and capabilities of generative AI

Understand how generative AI works, where it excels, and where it falls short — the foundation for every session that follows.

02

Master effective prompting techniques

Write structured, iterative prompts that produce accurate, high-quality outputs across text, image and video tools.

03

Use AI tools to streamline work and boost productivity

Apply Designs.ai, Pixlr, ChatGPT and Gemini to real content creation tasks with measurable time savings.

04

Recognise ethical issues and limitations in AI development and usage

Identify bias, understand data privacy risks, navigate copyright, and apply responsible AI practices in a professional context.

How you are assessed

Open-book. Rubric-based. Fair.

The WSQ assessment is designed to verify genuine comprehension, not rote memorisation. Participants have access to course materials throughout.

Grading is rubric-based, focused on depth of understanding — not memorisation. The assessment covers core AI/GenAI concepts, ethical considerations, practical tool usage, prompting techniques and content creation workflows. Participants who do not meet the passing score on first attempt are supported with a re-assessment pathway.

Media Skills Framework · Nationally Recognised Qualification

What the SOA represents.

National recognition. A WSQ Statement of Attainment is a government-issued credential recorded on your SkillsConnect profile — not a commercial certificate.

Hands-on capability across four platforms. LLMs (ChatGPT, Gemini), AI image generation, Pixlr image retouching, and Designs.ai content creation.

Ethical literacy. Demonstrated ability to recognise deepfakes, understand bias, apply data privacy practices, and use AI responsibly at work.

Alignment to the Media Skills Framework. The competency standard that Singapore's media and communications industry uses to define professional-level AI capability.

Your funding options in full

Most learners pay far less than the sticker price.

WSQ accreditation unlocks Singapore government funding that significantly reduces the cost for individuals and companies. Here is how each scheme works.

Individual

SkillsFuture Credit

SFC
Offset course fees directly

Singapore Citizens aged 25 and above can use their SkillsFuture Credit balance to offset course fees. The Mid-Career SkillsFuture benefit provides an additional top-up for eligible citizens aged 40 and above.

SME

Enhanced Training Support for SMEs

Up to 70%
Of course fee funded

SMEs sponsoring Singapore Citizen or PR employees are eligible for enhanced course fee funding. This significantly reduces the out-of-pocket cost for small businesses investing in AI capability.

Mid-Career

Mid-Career Enhanced Subsidy

Higher rates
For Singapore Citizens aged 40+

Singapore Citizens aged 40 and above qualify for the Mid-Career Enhanced Subsidy (MCES), which applies higher funding rates specifically designed to support mid-career upskilling and transitions.

Absentee Payroll Funding
For sponsoring employers
Eligible employers can claim Absentee Payroll (AP) funding to offset the cost of employee salaries during training hours. SMEs receive a higher AP rate. This reduces the true cost of sending a team even further.
Funding eligibility is subject to SSG approval and individual circumstances. Enquire with us and we will help you work out your organisation's nett fee before you commit.

What we hear before enrolment

The hesitations — and the honest answers.

They ask"Is this just another AI basics workshop?"
The answerNo. It is a WSQ-accredited module with government-issued credentials, a structured curriculum, formal assessment, and funding eligibility. That is a different category entirely from a one-day workshop.
They ask"Is the assessment hard to pass?"
The answerThe assessment is open-book, 10 short-answer questions, and graded on depth of understanding not memorisation. The 70% passing bar is designed to confirm genuine comprehension, not to fail people. Most learners pass on first attempt.
They ask"My team has varying levels of AI experience. Will this work for everyone?"
The answerYes. No prerequisites means Day 1 starts at foundations. By Day 2, the cohort is working hands-on together. The variance in experience actually enriches the practical sessions — more experienced learners often help peers.
They ask"How do I know if my company qualifies for the SME grant?"
The answerEnquire with us. Once we have your company size and employee details we can confirm eligibility and give you the exact nett fee before you commit to anything.
Common questions

The details that matter.

Do I need prior AI experience to attend?+
None. The course is explicitly designed for beginners. Day 1 starts with an introduction to AI from scratch. Having some familiarity with tools like ChatGPT helps, but is not required.
What do I need to bring?+
A laptop and a Google, Apple, or Microsoft account for Single Sign-On. All platforms are browser-based — no software installation needed. The trainer will walk participants through setup at the start of Day 1.
When is the next intake?+
Intake dates are managed through our operations base and assigned based on cohort availability. Register your interest below and an Enabler will confirm the next available date for you or your team.
Can I send my whole team?+
Yes, and it is often more cost-effective as a group. Corporate cohorts can qualify for SME Enhanced Training Support and Absentee Payroll funding. Reach out to discuss group pricing and scheduling.
What happens if someone does not pass the assessment?+
Participants who do not meet the 70% passing score on first attempt are supported through a re-assessment process. The open-book format and rubric-based grading mean most learners pass on first attempt.
Is the Statement of Attainment the same as a degree or diploma?+
No. A WSQ Statement of Attainment is a modular national qualification, not a full award. It is recorded on SkillsConnect and recognised across Singapore's workforce development ecosystem. Think of it as formal, government-verified proof of a specific, stackable competency.
